全赖威尔森先生的独到远见，苏富比远早于对手洞悉到艺术市场于国际的发展潜力。有见及此，苏富比于1955年设立纽约办事处，更于1964年收购美国艺术拍卖商──帕克–博涅特（Parket-Bernet），从此于发展蓬勃的北美印象派及现代名画市场，扮演举足轻重的角色。

Close to the end of World War I, Sotheby's auction has been extended to print, medals, coins and other different categories. The company also moved to the world-famous New Bond Street in 1917, and has since become Sotheby's London headquarters.
