合肥周谷堆农产品批发市场于1992年12月建成开业，经过多年的发展建设，从单一的水果交易发展成为集蔬菜、水果、水产品、畜禽肉类、粮油、禽蛋干调等交易为一体的综合型农产品批发市场，成为安徽省规模较大的农产品集散中心，是国家发改委、商务部、农业部支持的全国定点市场之一。2017年，市场实现综合成交量406.6万吨，交易额264亿元。

2002年，周谷堆市场经过资产重组，成为由合肥百货大楼集团股份有限公司控股、深圳农产品股份有限公司为第二大股东的股份制企业，发展步伐进一步加快。2010年，百大集团选址于合肥瑶海区大兴镇，投资建设中国合肥农产品国际物流园。2017年5月26日，周谷堆市场完成了全业态、全品类的搬迁工作，百大周谷堆大兴农产品国际物流园开业运营。物流园总占地1262亩，总建筑面积110万平方米，总投资36亿元，建设内容包括蔬菜、水果、水产品、畜禽肉类、粮油、副食品、冷冻品、干果等交易中心和冷库仓储中心、加工配送中心等，同时建立配套的农产品信息系统、检验检测系统、质量安全可追溯体系等。项目全部建成运营后，预计将实现农产品年成交额500亿元，进入全国前三大市场行列，带动专业化生产基地2万个，生产农户100万户，满足2000万城镇人口农产品需求，带动20万人就业，年创利税2亿元。
