北京清尚建筑设计研究院，是清华大学控股的建筑设计工程甲级企业，它的前身是具有建设工程室内设计甲级资质的清华工美环境艺术设计所。早在上世纪五十年代，中央工艺美术学院老一辈设计师较早在中国创建了建筑装饰设计专业。为了实现教学与实践的结合，1988年4月成立了中央工艺美术学院环境艺术研究设计所，这个由建筑师、教育家创办的，以建筑设计、室内设计、环境艺术设计为主营业务的设计机构，在推动高等院校产、学、研结合，承接社会项目和培养人才方面发挥了重要的作用。

1999年11月，中央工艺美术学院并入清华大学，“中央工艺美术学院环境艺术研究设计所”更名为“清华工美环境艺术设计所”。2005年12月，在清华大学产业发展政策的指导下，经过对设计所改制和重组，吸收新增资本，扩大经营范围，成立了“北京清尚环艺建筑设计院”。一个曾经取得出色业绩，拥有各专业设计人才和清华大学艺术传承的现代企业诞生了。

目前，北京清尚建筑设计研究院下设七个专业设计所、四个研究所，十数个专业设计室。

A modern enterprise with outstanding achievements, professional design talents and art heritage of Tsinghua University was born. At present, Beijing Qingshang architectural design and Research Institute has seven professional design institutes, four research institutes and more than ten professional design rooms. Based on the scientific research of Tsinghua University, Beijing Qingshang architectural design and Research Institute has carried out extensive and in-depth research in environmental protection, acoustics, lighting and art design, and has obtained more than ten design patents.
