桐乡洲泉，中国蚕丝之乡，自古勤事农桑，丝被产业兴旺，名工巧匠倍出。直至20世纪70年代，工业改革风潮的席卷下，效率高、人工省的丝绵制造机陆续进入洲泉，制丝工厂纷纷转向机器生产，传承千年的手工制丝工艺由此没落，濒临失传。

为了保护手工古法技艺，复苏精工细作传统，1986年，浙江省丝绸协会在洲泉召开“蚕丝被古法工艺保护会议”，召集杭嘉湖区域6大蚕丝被拉制派系，共16位民间工艺拉制大师参加，组织成立了“民间蚕丝被古法工艺保护组织”，后更名为“古法蚕丝被艺术研究院”，一直向全社会宣扬古法奥妙，培养手工传承人。

1999年，“古法蚕丝被艺术研究院”走上品牌化运作，面向杭嘉湖地区广征品名，经过激烈角逐，“江南古韵”从300多个提案中脱颖而出，成为推广手工古法蚕丝被拉制艺术的代名词。16位民间工艺拉制大师鼎力支持，承担起“江南古韵”的工艺传授和品质把关，让更多消费者能够体验到手工丝被的温暖、舒适、好品质。

In 1986, Zhejiang Silk Association held a "Conference on the protection of ancient silk quilt techniques" in zhouquan, Zhejiang Province, in order to protect the ancient handicraft techniques and revive the tradition of fine craftsmanship. It convened six major silk quilt drawing factions in Hangjiahu area, with 16 masters of folk crafts participating in the conference. It organized and established the "organization for the protection of ancient silk quilt techniques" and later renamed the "Research Institute of ancient silk quilt techniques" He has been promoting the mystery of ancient law to the whole society, and cultivating hand-made inheritors. In 1999, "ancient silk quilt Art Research Institute" was put into brand operation, and its name was widely collected in Hangjiahu area. After fierce competition, "Jiangnan ancient rhyme" emerged from more than 300 proposals and became a synonym for promoting the art of manual ancient silk quilt drawing. With the full support of 16 masters of folk arts and crafts, they have undertaken the process teaching and quality control of "Jiangnan ancient charm", so that more consumers can experience the warmth, comfort and good quality of handmade silk quilt.
