Gome, founded on January 1, 1987, is China's largest retail chain of home appliances and consumer electronics products. Gome has more than 1700 stores in China, covering 434 large and medium-sized cities. By the end of 2015, Gome group had 434 logistics centers and operation outlets in China, with a total storage area of 2.97 million square meters, covering more than 600 cities at the county level and more than 45000 towns. Gome opened in Hong Kong in 2003, taking the first step in the internationalization of China's home appliance chain retail enterprises; Gome successfully listed in Hong Kong in 2004. In 2010, Gome completed the new five-year strategic plan and began to implement and promote it in an all-round way. In May 2008, Gome donated 60 million yuan of cash and materials to the earthquake stricken areas in Sichuan Province, and 1.5 million yuan and 2.32 million yuan to the Red Cross China Red Cross project and China Poverty Alleviation foundation, respectively, to help poor and remote areas establish medical aid stations and solve the problem of lack of basic sports facilities. In July 2006, Gome donated 5 million yuan to Chaoshan Xinghe Award Foundation as a scholarship fund to support and encourage the winners of Xinghe award who have both excellent character and learning and help more poor students complete their studies. In January 2005, Gome launched the "let the world be full of love" activity to help orphans in the countries affected by the Indian Ocean tsunami, and took the lead in donating 10 million yuan, becoming the first Chinese enterprise to help the affected countries in post disaster reconstruction at that time.
