1994年成立上海市农工商超市总公司。2000年5月改制为“上海农工商超市有限公司”，2004年5月更名为“农工商超市（集团）有限公司”，以该企业为核心组建的企业集团名称为“农工商超市集团”。公司创办人杨德新，现任集团董事长。
