昆明国际会展中心始建于1992年，占地22.5万平方米，建筑面积24万平方米，地处云南省省会昆明，紧邻巫家坝国际机场、火车站和二环交通干线，交通方便，周边餐饮、住宿、娱乐等配套服务设施齐全。1993年建成后于当年联合五省七方成功举办了首届昆明出口商品交易会。是国内较早建成的集展览、会议、餐饮、物业、酒店、健身娱乐等综合服务功能为一身，具有丰富办展经验和“一站式”优质服务的会展企业。

2005年，为解决制约会展中心发展的体制机制问题，会展中心围绕建立现代企业制度，从理顺场馆产权关系，理顺资产性质，理顺投资主体与管理主体关系等方面进行公司化改革，于2005年12月31日成功改制为云南世博旅游集团控股的公司制企业，探索出了会展场馆企业化运营的盈利模式。通过不懈的努力，目前会展中心已建设成为省、市重要展会活动基地。我们的目标是：打造成为我国面向东南亚、南亚开放的国际区域性会展中心。
