黑龙堂化妆品是为了纪念1907年在中国东北黑龙江畔行医的宫崎雅干博士命名设立,迄今已近百年。

当时宫崎雅干博士精心研发的皮肤病用药「黑龙乳液」受到当地病患的极大好评,而在1930年创始人去世后,其夫人敬子女士回到位于长崎的故乡后,便免费供应给患有皮肤疾病的人,希望皮肤病治疗能够普及化。

然而在口碑相传的效果下,九州岛的皮肤病名药「黑龙」的名气很快就传到了全国,也因此将总公司迁到了东京,在1949年正式成立「黑龙堂」公司。

由于是制造皮肤病药品起家,对于各种肤质会产生的病变以及毛病相当在行,所生产的保养化妆品也皆以医疗外用药为基础,针对各种不同肤质的需求,秉持一贯『无香料˙自然派』的信念,研究开发改良而成各系列化妆品。再加上”物超所值”的定价策略,因此受到没有经济能力的学生族青睐。

因应市场需求,于1985年在东京设立化妆品研究所,于1991年再设福岛工厂,用新的科技仪器与器材来研发与生产商品,决不委外代工,以优良、高质量的化妆品回馈广大的消费大众。
