日本电子巨头(Sharp)夏普,被冠以“世界液晶之父”:发明了全球第一台液晶显示计算机、液晶电视、液晶摄录像机,也是苹果显示面板重要供应商之一。

夏普的历史是从创始人早川德次先生1912年在东京创立金属加工业开始的。1915年早川先生发明了名为“Ever-ReadySharpPencil”的金属活芯铅笔,这在当年可谓风靡一时。这就是现在的夏普公司名称及商标的由来。之后,夏普相继开发出日本首台矿石收音机、黑白电视机以及世界首台全晶体管电子计算器等产品,逐步发展成为生产家电产品、通信设备、还有太阳能电池及液晶面板、LED、LSI等电子元器件的综合型电子厂商。

自1912年创业以来,夏普已经在世界26个国家,64个地区开展业务。产品从收音机、电视到微波炉、计算器、太阳能电池、再到液晶显示器,夏普相继推出了多个“日本首次”、“世界首次”的产品。

1981年,夏普继在北京设立事务所后,率先在上海,常熟,无锡,南京等城市的经济开发区设立了6个生产基地。

夏普商贸(中国)有限公司从2005年6月起正式在中国营业,整合了南京夏普,常熟夏普,和上海夏普等多家生产基地和销售公司,组成为大型的新销售公司。南京夏普主要生产销售液晶电视产品;常熟夏普主要生产销售复印机等信息化机器;而上海夏普则主要生产销售白色家电。

2011年,夏普在北京设立了地区总部—夏普(中国)投资有限公司,下辖6家生产公司、5家销售公司、2家研发公司。在夏普(中国)投资有限公司的统一领导下,在中国国内构筑集产品设计、生产、销售、售后服务、人才培养为一体的完结型事业体制,并积极致力于在中国的技术开发工作。

发展到现在,中国夏普已能为顾客提供包括液晶电视产品、健康家电产品(包括冰箱、洗衣机、空气净化器、除湿机、原汁机、多功能干燥机等)、办公设备(数码复合机、传真机、商用净化器等)、商业解决方案(专业液晶显示器、商用液晶电视、投影机、微生物监测仪等)以及电子零部件等品种丰富的产品。

2016年8月12日,日本夏普公司在官网宣布,其已接受台湾鸿海精密3888亿日元(253亿人民币)注资,正式成为鸿海的子公司。
