Neogence创办人谢玠扬的妈妈是敏感肌肤，换季或是干冷秋冬，干燥脱屑的问题非常严重。为了改善妈妈的困扰，还在念博士班的谢玠扬与蔡松霈开始研发适合谢妈妈这种亚洲人敏弱肤质的产品。于是，仅添加高浓度精纯玻尿酸、具有保湿力的『玻尿酸保湿原液』诞生了。迅速的效果在亲友圈中引起热潮，大家争相询问还有没有货；时至今日，这款精纯原液，依旧是Neogence热潮不减的经典商品。

高浓度的成分、安全又迅速的效果，再加上自己人做出来的安心感，让『玻尿酸保湿原液』以及其他产品在口耳相传之下，在亲友圈、校园中引发了热潮。常常有其他科系的学弟妹慕名而来，到实验室门口敲门表示想购买护肤品，小量的生产也开始有了忠实顾客，谢玠扬与蔡松霈两人更常常骑着脚踏车，装着产品在校园中穿梭送货。亲友圈中的皮肤科医师洪志淳医师及张建屏药师，也对产品表示认同，并且开始参与讨论，提出对产品开发的专业见解与消费安全的坚持。就这样不断反复的讨论与检视，到了2005年毕业取得学位后，谢博士与蔡博士决定与洪医师、张药师携手，正式创立医学美容品牌Neogence霓净思。

2007年，为了能兼顾好产品质量、研究开发以及提升产能的三重需求，Neogence开先例，创立品牌专属的保养品研发实验室与工厂，保障所有霓净思出品的商品都是台湾研发制造。时至今日，谢玠扬、蔡松霈依旧坚持当年草创时期的理念，开发安全、迅速、有效的产品，解决肌肤问题。
