武清开发区是武清区对外开放的窗口，创新、带动转型、支撑发展的龙头，2017年一般预算收入30.4亿元；工业总产值565亿元；固定资产投资完成299亿元；税收收入90亿元；吸引直接就业10万人。
目前开发区正以打造“协同创新门户、生态科技园区”为目标，着力提升发展的质量和效益，主要开发3个载体功能区：
1.中欧产业园。与商务部投促局共建，规划5.5平方公里。是为欧洲企业打造的发展平台载体。以产业发展基地，主要发展装备制造业、生物医药、新材料为主导产业。目前为欧洲企业量身建设5万平米环保节能厂房和中欧园服务中心已投入使用，正在规划建设环保节能厂房二期和生活配套区。
