西安市德懋恭食品商店创建于清同治十一年(公元1872年),店主姓李,系清光绪初年咸阳籍进士李岳瑞先生的族侄。李进士家住在西安,本人在北京教皇学。李店主少年是在西安“东福盛”酱醋店当“相公”(学徒),东家见小李好学,制作技艺提高很快,怕日后出师跟他争生意,就在年关之际,把他解雇了。小李在李夫人的帮助下,在西大街南广济街口,买下几间门面房开了酱货店,兼营糕点。开业后,小李逐渐迷上了糕点制作,由于小李勤奋好学,多方收集各地糕点配方,钻研其配料、烘烤技术,不久便已选料精细、制作考究口味纯正、玫瑰清香宜人,制作出陕西名点“水晶饼”。一经上市备受达官贵人及百姓的青睐。李进士高兴之余,就以小李的为人作题,取其注重商业信誉、谦恭待人、勤奋好学、期望事业茂盛发达之意,选用“予懋乃德”之句,给店铺定名为“德懋恭”。之后,德懋恭便以制作经营各式糕点为主,兼营酱货。

清光绪末年八国联军攻陷北京,慈禧太后避难到西安,曾在广济街口闻香停车,品尝了“德懋恭”水晶饼后大加赞赏,遂将这一地方名贵糕点钦点为“贡品”,这一来“德懋恭”水晶饼的身价倍增,闻名遐迩,生意红红火火。它以精湛的制作工艺,卓越的质量和优质的服务、良好的信誉、独特的口味而享誉西北,陕西为最。

解放初期由于人们生活水平低,经营萧条,虽经14名店员努力仍入不敷出,1953年12月因资金不足,收入微薄而歇业。1956年初在党和政府的关心和大力支持帮助下,德懋恭这一百年老店才得以重新开业,同年实行了公私合营。

“文革”期间,由于受“极左”思想影响,“德懋恭”曾几度更名为“东方红”连队、“秦风食品商店”等,直到文革结束才恢复原名。1966年,德懋恭有职工二十余人但年龄普遍偏大,生产车间主要生产水晶饼和五十多种,上百个花色的低档糕点(水晶饼产量不大),自产自销,产量较低。1982年春节期间,西安市长张铁民从德懋恭门市部经过,看到购买水晶饼的顾客排成长龙,经了解这些顾客多半是在前一天晚上就开始排队,排了整整一夜(商店晚上21点下班),张市长听后很着急,当即责成店领导在原有的基础上增加水晶饼的产量,满足群众需求,同时,特批给该店20名招工指标(这在当时是很少见的,招工指标很难批)。

1994年企业为响应市政府关于旧城改造的号召,从西大街迁址大庆路15号西安木材厂院内。

1998年5月搬迁到现址小白杨南路18号。

In the early period of liberation, due to people's low living standards and sluggish operation, although 14 clerks tried to make ends meet, they closed down in December 1953 due to lack of funds and meager income. During the "Cultural Revolution", due to the influence of the "extreme left" thought, "demaogong" was renamed "Dongfanghong" company several times, "Qinfeng food store" and so on, until the end of the cultural revolution, it was restored to its original name. In 1966, there were more than 20 employees in demaogong, but they were generally older. The production workshop mainly produced more than 50 kinds of crystal cakes and hundreds of low-grade cakes of different colors (the output of crystal cakes was not large), which were produced and sold by themselves, and the output was relatively low. During the Spring Festival in 1982, Zhang Tiemin, mayor of Xi'an, passed by the demaogong store and saw a long line of customers who had bought crystal cakes. After learning that most of these customers had been queuing up the night before (the store left work at 21:00 p.m.), Mayor Zhang was very anxious. He immediately asked the store leaders to increase the production of crystal cakes on the original basis to meet the needs of the masses, At the same time, 20 recruitment indicators were specially approved for the store (this was rare at that time, and recruitment indicators were difficult to approve). In 1994, in response to the call of the municipal government for the reconstruction of the old city, the enterprise moved from West Street to Xi'an timber factory yard, No. 15 Daqing road.
