企业依托湖南农业大学、长沙学院等科研单位，坚持自主创新，组建10人专家团队，实行“产学研、科工贸”一体化开发与标准化生产，研发出富硒香米、多维锌硒米与高必需氨基酸米等高端富硒系列大米。

企业于2008年牵头组建了湖南省新合作富硒水稻专业合作社，成员152个，出资800万元，联结农户3000多户，农田3万多亩。合作社实行“八个统一”（统一生产计划、统一农资供应、统一技术服务、统一抗御灾害、统一质量标准、统一加工销售、统一品牌营运、统一基地建设）和“二次返利”与质量溯源管理。农民插“无本田”，产“放心米”，亩平增收500多元。

新合作鼓起了桃源人发展现代农业的冲劲。2015年初，企业又投资600万元，助力湖南佳兴生态富硒农产品专业合作社与桃源县丰隆水稻专业合作社的提升。企业自身还新组建了专门从事仓储、物流、市场开发的湖南省厚德农业发展有限公司与常德市湘西北农业机械化专业合作社，实现了“一体两翼、六轮驱动”的成功嬗变。

Farmers plug in "no Honda", produce "rest assured rice", and the average income per mu is more than 500 yuan. The new cooperation has encouraged Taoyuan people to develop modern agriculture. At the beginning of 2015, the enterprise invested another 6 million yuan to promote the professional cooperatives of ecological selenium rich agricultural products in Jiaxing, Hunan Province and Fenglong rice in Taoyuan County. In addition, the company has set up Hunan Houde Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. and Changde Xiangbei agricultural mechanization cooperative, which are specialized in warehousing, logistics and market development, and has achieved the successful transformation of "one body, two wings and six wheel drive".
