1996年7月1日，上海人俞兆林创办的上海兆林实业有限公司正式成立。俞兆林继金属棉、太空棉、羽绒、羊毛绒等内衣原料之后，创造出了”导湿保暖复合绒”为主要原料的复合保暖内衣。

2003年，公司进行改组，由周叔瑜任董事长，率领一批年富力强的归国留学生、硕士、学士等新锐组成决策管理层和员工，在重新组建后，在同行业推出护肤内衣。通过几年的探索和革新，护肤内衣开始逐渐走进人们视野，同时也预示新兆林从保暖内衣向护肤内衣的第三次转型开始。

2010年4月1日，在上个世纪90年代风靡一时的“内衣大王”上海“俞兆林”再换东家，而背后浮现的收购方，正是此前一直为其贴牌生产的义乌大陈镇一家民营企业金盾服饰。“俞兆林”商标、公司所有资产的交割均已完成，正在对公司运营架构进行重组，开始新一轮的招商。
