崔氏族谱记载，公元1435年（明朝正统三年），安徽芜湖崔家秀才进京赶考，奈何宦官王振把持朝政，朝廷内外，乌烟瘴气，科举舞弊，比比皆是。崔秀才心灰意冷，毅然决然的放弃科考回到安徽芜湖西河古镇，一心远离市井的崔秀才发现当地珩琅山气候宜人、生态优良，蜜源丰富、具有得天独厚的养蜂自然条件，于是崔秀才弃文从蜂，并定下祖训崔氏后代不可考取功名。

道光二十九年（1849）芜湖大水，平地水深丈余，圩破尽，人多饿死，崔家后人崔老汉将全部蜂蜜兑水发放给当地灾民，灾民感念崔老汉恩德问其蜂蜜字号，崔老汉随取名徽清堂，此后徽清堂在芜湖江口镇开设第一家店面，销售蜂蜜。

二十世纪四十年代，中华大地满目疮痍，内忧外患，当时崔家掌门人遂将家中钱财全部捐出，携家人回归山林隐居养蜂。

解放后，崔家后人与乡邻共同组建养蜂合作社，并创建养蜂品牌——徽清堂1849，历时数载，成功研制出蜂巢蜜这一划时代的产品，将甜蜜的种子播撒到全世界。

After that, huiqingtang opened its first store in Jiangkou Town of Wuhu to sell honey. In the 1940s, China was devastated, with internal and external troubles. At that time, the head of Cui's family donated all their money and returned to the mountains and forests to live in seclusion and beekeeping. After the liberation, Cui's descendants and their neighbors jointly set up a beekeeping cooperative and a beekeeping brand, huiqingtang 1849. After several years, they successfully developed the epoch-making product of beehive honey and spread the sweet seeds all over the world.
