滕州市悟通香料有限责任公司地处风景秀丽的墨子故里—山东省滕州市，有着便利的地理位置和气候条件，这里交通便利，通讯便捷，境内有津浦铁路、京福高速公路和104国道，平行贯穿南北。京沪高速铁路设有滕州站。西临京杭大运河的滕州港，并与周边县区之间均有高等级公路相通，形成了水陆兼备、四通八达的交通大动脉。同时这里又是煤炭和煤化工基地、能源动力、原料供应充足，为香料化工企业的发展奠定了良好的基础。

公司始建于1989年，前身为滕州市香料厂，由企业家卫舒平先生（已故）组建。在清华大学、天津化学试剂研究所、上海有机所以及齐鲁工业大学等科研单位的指导协助下先后开发了吡嗪、噻唑、吡咯、呋喃类衍生物和含硫化合物四十余种。创建了中国较早一个生产杂环和含硫化合物的专业工厂。1996年3月更名改制为滕州市悟通香料有限责任公司，经过二十多年的发展，公司逐步形成了国内生产杂环和含硫合成香料规模较大、品种较多的企业，吡嗪衍生物的合成工艺处于国内前沿水平，在同行中以技术创新和经营信誉而广受业界称道。（见《中国香精香料发展史》）

公司2013年度实现销售收入1.5亿元，出口创汇200余万美元，高技术产品的产值约占总产值的60%以上。

2007年，与国际颇具影响的上市公司-中国香精香料有限公司联手合资，形成了中外合资的新悟通。
