茅粮集团始创于1995年，前身为云县大黄桥综合养殖场，2000年确定以酒业为主的发展思路正式步入公司化运作，2002年发展为临沧的私营企业集团公司，2004年发展为云南省省级企业集团，2013年发展为企业集团，打造了云南白酒品牌“茅粮”，开发了木瓜果酒“司岗里”。形成了以白酒产业为基础、司岗里木瓜发酵果酒为核心、养殖及其他产业为补充的多元化产业格局。目前，集团拥有总资产33亿元，在职人员1800人，下辖7个子公司、13个销售分公司、5个销售大区，产品销售覆盖29个省103个市309个县区。

司岗里木瓜发酵果酒产业是集团自主研发的特色产业，也是集团的支柱产业，2005年建成投产以来，共开发了“司岗里、金铂颐”等7个系列产品，倍受消费者亲睐，市场销售逐年实现两位数以上增长。

养殖产业是集团的前身，2003年由传统养殖转型升级为良种猪核心群扩繁，被认定为“云南省优质种猪基地”，“临沧市良种猪核心群扩繁中心”，多年来为临沧市及周边州市的生猪品种改良、养殖产业规模化、规范化发展及边疆新农村经济建设做出了积极贡献。
