2006年11月16日，爱贝克思音乐影像制作（中国）有限公司在北京正式成立，背靠着日本最大规模的唱片公司，也是与世界四大唱片公司地位相当的AVEX，从创立之初就坚持要打造有AVEX标签的歌手。虽然当时正值内地选秀市场趋于火热之时，李宇春、张靓颖、周笔畅等选秀歌手正当红，也不乏话题性新人的出道，但爱贝克思中国却并不想签选秀歌手，此举也让爱贝克思中国承受了比其他唱片公司更大的挑战和压力。公司成立之初便推出了“温暖气质新女声”江一燕，并不惜集结全球幕后制作精英推出全新专辑《用爱呼吸》作为爱贝克思中国第一辑开山之作。旗下藏族女歌手阿兰更是爱贝克思中国着力培养的本土歌手，空灵高亢的好声音也让她获得了不少赞誉，并为大热卖座电影《赤壁》演唱了主题曲，更加提升了在内地的知名度，为随后进驻日本流行乐坛奠定了基础。
