2017年，医院门急诊量387.25万人次，住院收容量14.03万人次，手术量8.70万台次，平均住院日6.73天。继1958年国内首例体外循环心内直视手术、1960年成功救治烧伤面积96%（Ш度烧伤面积68%）的重度烧伤患者、1986年世界首例十指离断再植术、1991年全国首创重组合异种骨移植术、1997年全国首例部分活体肝脏移植术等高新技术后，2006年成功实施世界第二例、国内首例“换脸”术，2007年成功开展世界首例异位辅助性活体肝移植术，2010年世界首例“两人异位”劈裂式肝移植术取得成功；自1999年实施全国首例部分活体小肠移植术，2012年以来又成功开展全国首例非亲缘性部分活体小肠移植术、世界首例机器人活体小肠移植术等系列小肠移植技术。2014年以来，完成亚洲首例3D打印肩胛骨、骨盆等不定型假体植入术，以及3D打印“半头人”颅骨修补术。2015年医院成功开展国内首例人子宫移植术。2016年完成世界首例超声引导下的肥厚性心肌病射频消融术，采用4D打印为5个月患儿实施复杂先心病合并双侧气管严重狭窄手术。2017年完成世界首例计算机辅助4D打印乳房重建术，世界首例组织工程再生骨修复大段骨缺损。医院在肢体严重战创伤系列救治技术、重型颅脑伤检测与救治技术、全胸腔镜下脊柱侧弯矫正手术、胃癌早期诊断防治续贯策略、心血管疾病介入诊疗技术、全胸腔镜下心脏手术、胎儿先心病筛查与诊断等方面形成特色优势，先后创造了20余项国内外“首创”、“首例”技术。
