Universal music, founded in 1912, belongs to Vivendi group of France, a famous record company in the world, and has the world's leading music content library. Universal Music Group (UMG), which has the reputation of "record Empire", is the largest record company in the world. It belongs to Vivendi group of France, with a 25.6% share of the world record market. Founded in 1912, universal records now has the world's largest music content library, from classical to jazz to pop. Global records is the largest record company in the world. Founded in 1912, the company was originally a division of Universal Pictures. In 1998, Universal Pictures bought poly gram, which specializes in publishing classical and pop music records, and merged and reorganized into today's Universal Music Group, becoming a huge "record Empire". It has subsidiaries in dozens of countries around the world to distribute various types of audio-visual products. Since 1998, universal records, together with Sony, EMI and Warner, has become the world's top four record companies. In 2011, globegroup acquired the struggling EMI records for 1.2 billion pounds, five times the price of Warner records. The pattern of the world record industry has been reduced from "four" to "three". After swallowing the opponent's assets, globegroup's share in most of the world's music markets is close to and exceeds the upper limit prescribed by the local anti-monopoly law. The European Commission is concerned that the transaction will give globegroup excessive market power, increase the price of music products, significantly worsen the license terms provided by EMI to digital platforms, reduce the choice of consumers and cultural diversity. Therefore, in order to make the acquisition pass the antitrust investigation of EU and US regulators, universal has to propose a series of rectification plans. Globegroup also gave up EMI's business in France, Belgium, Czech Republic, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and other European countries.
