中央汇金投资有限责任公司（以下简称“中央汇金公司”），是国有独资公司。
2003年12月，中央汇金公司成立，总部设在北京，依法行使对国有商业银行等大型金融企业出资人的权利和义务。2007年9月，财政部发行特别国债，从中国人民银行购买中央汇金公司的全部股权，并将上述股权作为对中国投资有限责任公司（以下简称“中投公司”）出资的一部分，注入中投公司。
中央汇金公司根据国务院授权，对国有大型金融企业进行股权投资，以出资额为限代表国家依法对国有大型金融企业行使出资人权利和履行出资人义务，实现国有金融资产保值增值。中央汇金公司不开展其他任何商业性经营活动，不干预其控股的国有大型金融企业的日常经营活动。
截止2016年12月31日，中央汇金公司控股参股机构包括国家开发银行、中国工商银行股份有限公司、中国农业银行股份有限公司、中国银行股份有限公司、中国建设银行股份有限公司、中国光大集团股份公司、中国光大银行股份有限公司、中国出口信用保险公司、中国再保险（集团）股份有限公司、新华人寿保险股份有限公司、中国建银投资有限责任公司、中国银河金融控股有限责任公司、申万宏源集团股份有限公司、中国国际金融股份有限公司、中信建投证券有限责任公司、中国中投证券有限责任公司、建投中信资产管理有限责任公司、国泰君安投资管理股份有限公司。
中投公司根据国务院要求持有中央汇金公司股权。中投公司开展投资业务和中央汇金公司代表国家行使股东职能的行为之间有严格的隔离。
Central Huijin Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Central Huijin Company") is a wholly state-owned company. In December 2003, the Central Huijin Company was established with its headquarters in Beijing. It exercises its rights and obligations to investors of large financial enterprises such as state-owned commercial banks in accordance with the law. In September 2007, the Ministry of Finance issued special treasury bonds, purchased all the equity of Central Huijin Company from the people's Bank of China, and injected the above equity into CIC as part of the contribution to China Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CIC"). According to the authorization of the State Council, Central Huijin Company carries out equity investment in large state-owned financial enterprises, and exercises the rights and obligations of investors on behalf of the state in accordance with the law, so as to maintain and increase the value of state-owned financial assets. Central Huijin Company does not carry out any other commercial business activities and does not interfere in the daily business activities of the large state-owned financial enterprises it controls. As of December 31, 2016, the holding and participating institutions of Central Huijin Company include China Development Bank, industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited, Agricultural Bank of China Limited, Bank of China Limited, China Construction Bank Co., Ltd., China Everbright Group Co., Ltd., China Everbright Bank Co., Ltd., China export and Credit Insurance Corporation, China State Reinsurance (Group) Co., Ltd., Xinhua Life Insurance Co., Ltd., China Construction Bank Investment Co., Ltd., China Galaxy Financial Holding Co., Ltd., Shenwan Hongyuan Group Co., Ltd., China International Finance Co., Ltd., China Construction Investment Securities Co., Ltd., China Investment Securities Co., Ltd., China Construction Investment CITIC Asset Management Co., Ltd Limited liability company, Guotai Junan Investment Management Co., Ltd. CIC holds the equity of Central Huijin Company in accordance with the requirements of the State Council. There is a strict separation between CIC's investment business and Central Huijin's act of acting as a shareholder on behalf of the state.
