武昌理工学院是经教育部批准设置的普通本科高校，创建于1997年，前身是武汉科技大学中南分校，经20余年发展，已成为一所以工学、管理学为主、多学科协调发展的高校。学校位于“武汉•中国光谷”，占地一千余亩，建筑面积50余万平方米。学校依山傍水，座落在美丽的梅南山麓。
