公司主要从事化工产品的开发、生产和销售。现江山化工本部拥有：18万吨/年二甲基甲酰胺(2套装置)、4万吨/年二甲基乙酰胺(2套装置)、18万吨/年甲胺（2套装置）、4.5万吨/年合成氨、1万吨/年甲醇钠、2000吨/年高纯度环氧树脂等生产装置，以及16.5MW自备热电厂。其中，二甲基甲酰胺（DMF）、混甲胺产能规模居世界前列，二甲基乙酰胺（DMAC）产能规模居国内首位，是国内有机胺生产基地之一。DMF、DMAC产品市场占有率分别达25％和65%以上，销往国内二十多个省（市），并有部分出口东南亚和美欧，在市场上享有良好的信誉。同时，在宁波拥有8万吨/年顺酐装置及其配套的年产9万吨正丁烷装置，年产顺酐8.5万吨，并副产异丁烷、丙烷等轻烃产品，顺酐装置采用正丁烷氧化、溶剂吸收制顺酐工艺，已顺利进入不饱和树脂、酒石酸、四氢苯酐等行业客户；拥有项目总体规划产能为30万吨/年，一期产能10万吨/年的PC生产装置，专业从事聚碳酸酯（PC）的研发、生产和销售，拥有聚碳酸酯制造技术自主知识产权，一期装置于2014年建成投产。
