南京审计大学是以“审计”命名的全日制普通本科院校，为国内审计高等教育发源地之一，因审而立、为审而存、依审而兴、靠审而强。学校始建于1983年，1987年更名为南京审计学院，2002年原南京金融高等专科学校并入，2011年获批为全国审计硕士专业学位授权单位，成为教育部、财政部、审计署和江苏省共建高校，2013年获批为硕士学位（学术学位）授权单位，2015年经教育部批准更名为南京审计大学。经过35年的建设，学校已发展成为以审计为品牌、经管法工文理等学科相互支撑、协同发展的特色高校。

学校现有全日制在校本科生、研究生、留学生共1.6万余名。专任教师970余人。其中，正高职称150余人，具有博士学位480余人。拥有浦口、莫愁两个校区，占地145公顷。中共审计署党校、审计署审计干部教育学院位于浦口校区。

学校设有政府审计学院、会计学院等16个专业学院（教学部），审计科学研究院、瑞华审计与会计学院等19个特色学院（研究院）；设有35个本科专业。建有教学团队1个、江苏省高校教学团队2个；现有江苏省高等教育人才培养模式创新实验基地1个。

学校现有硕士学位授权点14个。其中，学术硕士一级学科7个、专业硕士点7个。“审计科学与技术”和“现代审计科学”分别入选江苏高校优势学科建设工程一、二期项目，应用经济学学科入选江苏高校优势学科建设工程二期项目序列学科；理论经济学学科入选“十三五”江苏省（培育）学科，公共管理、统计学、计算机科学与技术、数学、马克思主义理论等5个学科入选“十三五”江苏省建设学科；在第四轮全国学科评估中，工商管理一级学科评估结果为B，排行全国前20%-30%。

学校建有“现代审计发展研究中心”“金融风险管理研究中心 ”等江苏省高校哲学社会科学研究基地2个、“公共工程审计”“审计信息工程”“金融工程”和“江苏省审计大数据工程”等省级实验室4个。《审计与经济研究》为CSSCI来源期刊，《南京审计大学学报》为CSSCI来源期刊（扩展版）。

学校设立润园、泽园、澄园、沁园书院，探索书院和学院“双院制”育人模式。根据江苏省高校招生就业指导服务中心与麦可思公司合作推出的各年度《江苏省高校毕业生就业、预警和产业人才供应报告》，在江苏高校中，毕业生就业竞争力指数、平均月薪、毕业生愿意介绍母校的比例等指标连续多年名列前茅。
