一九七九年由李炳炎先生在香港创立了香港联兴行建筑材料有限公司，后又代理了国外品牌，如“德国DURIVIT高域”、“瑞士LAUFEN劳芬”、“德国汉莎HANSA”、“德国高仪GROHE”、“美国科勒KOHLER”及意大利洁具等。

其中，由意大利设计并生产的国际品牌“华乐诗——WALRUS”在香港市场特别抢眼。因此，2000年由香港联兴行创始人李炳炎先生在香港注册WALRUS——华乐诗。同年，在意大利、上海注册，从此，华乐诗诞生。

华乐诗陶瓷厂的诞生：2002年，李炳炎先生投入巨资将安徽淮南原陶瓷厂全额收购，收购金额为2000万元，占地面积300亩地，是一座拥有集办公、工厂、宿舍、幼儿园为一体的现代化工厂。2005年，由于政府征地，华乐诗工厂迁址在广东潮州。占地面积30亩地。
