哈尔滨电机厂有限责任公司(原哈尔滨电机厂)始建于1951年6月，1994年10月进行了股份制改造，是我国生产大、中型发电设备的重点骨干企业。主要产品有水轮机、水轮发电机、汽轮发电机、风力发电机、电站控制设备以及滑动轴承。

公司占地面积72万平方米，建筑面积33万平方米。现有各类设备3800余台，其中主要设备1800余台，精、大、稀、重型设备300余台。此外还拥有葫芦岛水电大件加工基地、秦皇岛核电加工基地、镇江风电开发基地和昆明中小水电开发基地。

公司水轮发电机组的制造能力达到10000MW/年，最大单机容量达到800MW；汽轮发电机的制造能力为30000MW/年，最大单机容量达到1000MW，并具备制造单机容量1000MW水轮发电机组和1200MW级核能发电机的能力。

公司制造的大型水电机组，约占国内生产的大型水电机组总装机容量的1/2，汽轮发电机约占国内生产的大型火电机组总装机容量的1/3。产品遍布全国各地，并出口到美国、加拿大、日本、印度、巴西、俄罗斯等51个国家。
