In June 2012, with the support of Wuhu Municipal government, Sinopharm signed an equity cooperation agreement with Wuhu Sanyi Xincheng Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Wuhu Sanyi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., holding Wuhu Sanyi Xincheng Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and absorbing and merging the assets of Wuhu Sanyi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. On October 20, 2016, according to the industrial integration strategy of China Pharmaceutical Group, the company was jointly held by Shanghai Modern Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Sinopharm Holding Co., Ltd.
