沈阳音乐学院是一所历史悠久、具有光荣传统的高等音乐艺术院校，是中国共产党创办的高等艺术学院，抗日战争胜利后，学院由延安迁至东北，1948年底定址沈阳，1958年更名为沈阳音乐学院。

学院现有主校区、长青校区、桃仙校区、大连校区4个校区。学院以本科与研究生教育为主体，同时设有附属中等音乐学校和附属中等舞蹈学校。拥有艺术学门类中的音乐与舞蹈学类和戏剧与影视学类本科专业12个，国务院学位委员会授予的艺术学理论、音乐与舞蹈学两个一级学科硕士学位授权点，获得国务院学位委员会批准的艺术硕士（MFA）授予权。

学院先后成立了以学生为主体的沈音• 北方交响乐团、沈音•北方民族乐团、沈音•北方女子民歌合唱团、沈音•北方青年合唱团等多个艺术表演团体，活跃在国内外音乐舞台上。

Shenyang Conservatory of music is a college of music and art with a long history and glorious tradition. It was founded by the Communist Party of China. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the college was moved from Yan'an to the northeast. It was located in Shenyang at the end of 1948 and renamed Shenyang Conservatory of music in 1958. Since its establishment, the college has always taken the prosperity of national music culture and serving the people as its own duty, and has made outstanding contributions in different historical stages of national independence and people's liberation, socialist revolution and construction, and socialist reform and opening up.
