1924年,飞利浦研发出双钨丝「Duplo车灯」,让灯泡同时拥有近光灯与远光灯功能。

1931年,飞利浦开创了世界上第一个照明设计与咨询中心。

1933年,"Bi-Arlita"光源,最早的用于一般照明的现代双螺旋灯丝灯被引入世界市场。

1938年,利浦引入了革命性的超高压宫灯。这种紧凑型高强度光源作为电影放映机中笨重的碳弧灯的替代品而受到欢迎。荧光灯也正是在1938年投入市场。飞利浦曾经扮演着先锋的角色。

In addition, because of its resistance to high radiation load, it plays a crucial role in the development of all subsequent forms of compact fluorescent lamps. In 1978, Philips played a leading role in the transformation from 38mm diameter fluorescent lamp to 26mm diameter fluorescent lamp. The first high-frequency fluorescent lamps using electronic ballasts were introduced into the market. In 1980, the new phosphor allowed the miniaturization of fluorescent lamps due to its outstanding performance under high radiation load. Philips is the first company to put compact fluorescent tube into use. In 1995, the tl5 system, which is characterized by only 16 mm diameter fluorescent tube, greatly reduced the total operating cost and saved considerable energy and materials. Because of its small size, this light source allows more freedom and flexibility in optics and lamp design. UHP is used for lcdprojectors ultra-high performance gas discharge lamp MPXL (automotive xenon lamp greatly improves vision, cuts off angle and is created to emit distinctive blue light). In 1999, a breakthrough was made in the optical performance and enhanced aesthetic appearance of road lighting system.
