宁波华茂教育集团由华茂集团投资6.5亿元人民币于1999年创办。

宁波华茂教育集团下辖4所学校：宁波华茂外国语学校、宁波华茂国际学校、龙游华茂外国语学校、衢州华茂外国语学校，单独设立教育实业公司。

宁波的两所学校占地面积500亩，拥有五大馆：美术馆、科技馆、体育馆、温水游泳馆、图书馆；两个400米环形塑胶跑道及足球场。现有班级160余个，约5000名学生，其中外籍学生350多名。教职工800余名，其中外籍教师60多名。

作为民办学校，华茂高度重视学校党建工作。教育集团现有5个党支部，165名党员，隶属宁波华茂集团党委。党组织以落实从严治党主体责任为主线，结合民办学校实际情况，强化思想建设，切实提高党员思想素质；落实《准则》《条例》，着力增强党内政治生活的严肃性；加强组织建设，增强党员队伍凝聚力；发挥党委的指导作用，指导好工青妇以及民主党派的各项工作的开展。党组织还在包括处理群体性事件等问题中发挥重要作用。
