重庆机床（集团）有限责任公司前身为成立于1940年的中国汽车公司华西分厂，上世纪50年代被国家指定为中国十八家机床制造企业之一，史称“十八罗汉”，专业制造齿轮加工机床，先后试制成功滚齿机、剃齿机、插齿机、蜗轮母机。
2005年底，重庆机床厂整合重庆第二机床厂、重庆工具厂组建重庆机床集团。2014年7月搬迁至重庆市南岸区长江工业园区，新厂区占地面积426亩，新增建筑面积21万平方米，新购关键工艺设备80余台套。产品涵盖齿轮加工机床、车床、齿轮刀具、汽车零部件、专用机床、精密螺杆、精密铸件、采棉机及采棉服务、智能制造装备等板块，广泛服务于汽车、摩托车、工程机械、能源、船舶、光伏产业、农业机械等行业领域。
