哈尔滨东安汽车动力股份有限公司前身为国营一二○厂（始建于1948年，是以生产航空轻型动力及其衍生产品、直升机传动系统为主的军工企业）。八十年代初根据国家“军民结合，以民养军”的方针，一二○厂投资建立了国内微型汽车发动机生产线。随着其产值比重不断增加并适应现代企业制度的发展需要，1998年10月，由东安集团发起，以公开募集方式成立了哈尔滨东安汽车动力股份有限公司（股票代码：600178，名称：东安动力），并在上海证券交易所正式挂牌交易。

目前公司主要有发动机和变速器两大类产品，其中发动机产品包括DAF系列、DAK系列、DAM系列1.0升、1.3升、1.5升前后驱以及新开发的M系列1.0T、1.2T前后驱增压及增压直喷发动机平台，变速器产品包括前驱变速器平台、后驱变速器平台、电动车减速器平台，传统变速器覆盖1.0L-2.4L发动机，电动车减速器覆盖中高级轿车、电动物流车。

公司拥有装备精良的现代化生产线，其中装配生产线6条、试车生产线3条、机加生产线34条、铸造生产线6条，已具备年产发动机60万台、变速器67万台的能力，累计产销发动机超过500万台，是国内小排量汽车动力、传动总成的设计、开发和制造基地。
