公司隶属宁波银亿集团有限公司，公司前身为广西河池氮肥厂，始建于1969年，1976年建成投产，1993年改制成立广西河池化学工业集团公司。1993年7月，由广西河池化学工业集团公司作为发起人，将广西河池氮肥厂整体改组设立了由集团公司控股的“广西河池化工股份有限公司”。1999年12月，广西河池化工股份有限公司的5000万A股股票在深圳证券交易所上市交易，成为广西化工行业和全国同类型企业上市公司。2005年5月，公司划转中国化工集团。
