商学院的前身是1950年成立的工厂管理系、贸易系、簿记核算和财政信贷教研室，是我国较早开办管理教育的机构，是新中国工商管理教育的奠基者。经过60余年的发展，学院为企业培养了大批专业的经济管理人才；为中国的高校培养了大量师资；开设了许多新的教育项目；开辟了许多新的研究领域；编写的教科书在国内高校广泛使用；为政府决策和企业发展积极进言献策，是中国管理教育的重要开创者。

商学院下设企业管理系、组织与人力资源系、市场营销系、管理科学与工程系、贸易经济系、会计系和财务与金融系7个学系。商学院师资力量完备，结构整齐，教学科研实力雄厚，现有专职教师138人，其中海外毕业博士40人，占教师总数的近30%，包括一批来自美国普林斯顿大学、卡内基梅隆大学、罗格斯大学等海外名校的博士。

商学院与美国、加拿大、英国、丹麦、爱尔兰、芬兰、法国、日本、韩国、澳大利亚、比利时、荷兰等国以及中国香港、台湾地区的70余所大学建立了密切的人员互访、学生交换及学术交流等合作关系。
