1966年，为了发展澜沧县的茶产业，政府在景迈山创办茶叶培训班，成为了澜沧古茶的起点，搭建了澜沧古茶前身景迈茶厂的基础，当时年仅十五岁零两个月的杜春峄作为学员，走进了景迈山，边学茶、边做茶。1972年，茶厂手工压制了边销紧压茶（澜沧砖茶）。

1975年，澜沧全县茶产业得到了发展，景迈茶厂搬迁到澜沧县城西郊，取名澜沧县茶厂，杜春峄被选任为主管生产副厂长，建盖起一百平米的旧厂房，配上自行改装的履旧机器进行生产。

1977年计划经济，茶厂通过选拔，派出杜春峄到勐海学习熟茶发酵技术；1978年开始进行普洱茶渥堆发酵，成品由云南省进出口公司经销；为了更好完成计划任务，1979年，厂里建成并启用了自己的发酵厂房。

1998年，茶厂经营不善，加之从计划经济转入市场经济，濒临破产，在由82名自身能力较弱的失业老工人(平均年龄50多岁)组建了澜沧县古茶有限公司（2006年正式更名为澜沧古茶有限公司），杜春峄任董事长，凭2万元启动资金和租赁原厂厂房机器，开始摸索生机，与1999年创立了古树生茶“001”、古茶熟茶“0085”，成为了后期的品牌标志性茶品。

2009年，企业内核已经稳固，开始向外布局，选在贸易集散地优势的广州，成立全国营销中心，并于2011年开始在全国范围内建起了终端体验服务体系，持续发展至今，更在2015年，在普洱市完成建设品牌中心，展示品牌形象。2016年，品牌成立50周年，对内始终“怀抱赤诚、持守真味”，关注行业的持续健康发展，创立“春億古茶文化基金”助力古茶林保护和地区经贸文化事业，对外稳健走向更广阔的发展舞台。
