香港大学，简称港大（英语：The University of Hong Kong，缩写：HKU），是一所位于香港岛薄扶林的公立研究型大学。

香港大学的校徽根据英国纹章院的建议而订立，并于1913年5月14日获得包含校盾和校训的纹章。早于1912年10月，香港大学已于一封给纹章院的信中提到了盾形纹章的设计。但设计者为谁已不可考，可能是一位熟悉纹章学的欧洲人。从纹章的设计可以看出早期的大学兴办者对香港大学的期望，希望将大学发展为一所中西合壁的大学。而背景的蓝、绿色分别代表大学所在的香港岛和四面环海的景致。现时采用的盾章是根据1958年纹章院的绘图订立。

在1981年，香港大学建校70周年时，大学向纹章院申请一个完整的纹章，添加部分包括冠顶及扶持盾牌的兽形，此项申请于1984年获英国纹章院批准。纹章里（校徽外）有三头生物。居顶的是代表英格兰的小狮子。左面是代表中国的龙，右面是代表英国的狮子，脚踏着的草地代表香港岛。三头生物都系著翡翠项饰。头盔与彩带代表勇敢的骑士。
