松桂坊原为湘西白泥江边的一座榨油作坊,始建于民国十八年,即公元1929年。
冬日,油坊熏制腊肉,坊主将桂花和桂皮等料拌肉于缸中发酵,桂香、桂色入肉后,又以迎风山岭所产松木为柴火加湘西桔皮等烤烧熏制,腊肉比寻常腊肉更加金亮香醇,是以得名。
