由始建于1956年的原重庆綦江汽车半轴厂于2009年8月转制而成为重庆荆江汽车半轴股份有限公司。公司具有近60年的汽车半轴制造历史，公司法人代表为湖北藉周世平，现有员工285余人，其中工程技术人员83人，2016年6月在上海股转公司成功挂牌上市（股票代码：837664），固定资产1.2亿元，占地面积66000平方米，建筑面积30000多平方米，拥有汽车半轴生产设备及检测设备500余台套。

于1991年引进日本汽车半轴生产技术后，实现了日本五十铃轻卡、SUV以及重型卡车的半轴国产化。目前，公司已与庆铃汽车股份有限公司、江西江铃底盘股份有限公司、郑州日产汽车有限公司、长城汽车股份有限公司、四川一汽丰田汽车有限公司、德纳管理（上海）有限公司、福建台亚汽车工业有限公司、陕西汉德车桥有限公司、中国重型汽车集团有限公司、包头北奔重型汽车有限公司、安徽安凯福田曙光车桥有限公司、三一重工股份有限公司、东风柳州汽车有限公司、方盛车桥（柳州）有限公司等企业建立了合作配套关系，并在国内多个省市设有直销网点，部分产品还出口到了亚州其他国家和欧美等国。
