公司于1995年改制为股份有限公司，1998年4月经中国证监会批准发行股票，同年5月公司股票在深交所挂牌上市，证券代码000813。2009年7月在自治区党委、政府的领导下，自治区国资委、自治区金融工作办公室、乌鲁木齐市国资委共同提出重组方案，由新疆凯迪投资有限责任公司具体贯彻实施重组。2013年10月，公司完成资产重组，通过优良资产的注入，实现了天山纺织的结构调整、资产调整和主业调整，由单一的毛纺织业转变为矿业、毛纺织业双主业模式经营的集团化公司。

公司重大资产重组实施后，公司在哈密黄土坡矿区拥有两个铜多金属矿探矿权，探矿面积合计为70.24平方公里；一个铜锌矿采矿权，采矿面积为2.021平方公里。现已探明矿区铜矿石储量为1750.74万吨（含I矿群和II矿群），其中铜金属储量18.30万吨、锌金属储量19.61万吨，并伴生其他金、银、镉、镓等金属，矿石平均品位均处于较高水平。公司现已建成年采选矿石50万吨的现代化矿山和选厂，2013年9月已全部投产。目前，公司哈密黄土坡矿区为国内为数不多的中大型铜锌多金属矿山。
