日照港股份有限公司是山东省人民政府批准,由日照港集团有限公司(原日照港务局)为主发起人,联合兖矿集团有限公司、中国中煤能源集团公司(原中国煤炭工业进出口集团公司)、淄博矿业集团有限责任公司、山西潞安矿业(集团)有限责任公司、山西晋城无烟煤矿业集团有限责任公司等五家法人单位共同以发起设立方式设立,于2002年7月15日取得山东省工商行政管理局颁发的企业法人营业执照。。

“日照港”股票于2006年10月17日在上海证券交易所挂牌上市,目前注册资本为3,075,653,888元。

日照港股份有限公司目前拥有生产性泊位46个,拥有正式员工5400余人,总设计吞吐能力1.34亿吨,其中拥有20万吨级、30万吨级的矿石专用泊位各1个;15万吨级、10万吨、5万吨级煤炭专用泊位各1个;木片专用泊位4个,粮食专用泊位1个,其他通用泊位36个。目前公司主要经营矿石、煤炭、水泥、镍矿、铝钒土、钢材、焦炭、粮食、木材、木片等大宗散杂货装卸、堆存业务。历经多年发展,公司已成为国内主要的铁矿石中转港之一,年中转铁矿石超过1.2亿吨;木片、大豆吞吐量居全国沿海港口首位。截止目前,日照港股份有限公司已整合了日照港除原油、液体化工、集装箱等货种外其他所有散杂货业务,公司业务规模稳步提升,产品结构逐步丰富,抵御经济波动风险的能力进一步增强。
