ESP(Electric Sound Products)创立于1975年,以“为每一位音乐家提供他们真正需要的乐器”作为理念,成为了日本真正的定制乐器品牌。最初,以「Navigator」命名的品牌,经营者认为必须让对不满足于乐器故有形态的乐手们能够满意,从木材到配件都抱有绝不妥协的态度来手工打造每一件乐器。

从品牌创建的第四年,即1979年,开始了配件的销售以及成品的出口,实现了海外事业的拓展。对于远销海外的作品,则启用了「ESP」作为品牌名称,得到了海外音乐家们的广泛的认可。随着ESP知名度的不断提高,大批海外音乐家开始使用ESP品牌的乐器,日本国内也大范围的出现了希望购买ESP品牌作品的声音。最终以反向进口的形式,实现了ESP品牌的日本本土销售。自此,Navigator品牌坚守经典,而ESP品牌不断研发并创新新的款式,实现了品牌的双向发展。

Char先生不仅对VINTAGE情有独钟,对新款作品也是勇于尝试,更协同ESP的设计师们开发了一部分新产品。对于Char追求的音效,ESP的设计师们不断地尝试、创新,诞生了许多优良的作品。ESP的第一把大师定制作品正是在那个时期问世。进入80年代,ESP开始了和「LOUDNESS」乐队创始人高崎晃的合作。对于“不同于其他乐手,希望拥有一把特殊的吉他”的高崎晃来说,与ESP的RANDOM STAR的理念不谋而合,他那高超的技术以及独特的音效让整个世界为之感动。对于欧美的金属吉他手们来说,听到了LOUDNESS乐队AKIRA TAKASAKI的名字,更多人联想到的是“红色的ESP RANDOM STAR”。

同时,与THE ALFEE乐队高見沢俊彦合作开发的ANGEL吉他,更是超过了乐器的范畴,可以称得上是艺术品。ANGEL系列与成军40年以上的THE ALFEE乐队直到今天仍然共同合作与发展,得到了各行各业的瞩目。90年代开始LUNA SEA风靡全球。那个时期,风格独特的作品更是不断的被研发并推向市场。
