广西艺术学院位于广西壮族自治区首府南宁市，是全国7所综合性普通本科高等艺术院校之一，2012年成为中华人民共和国文化部与广西壮族自治区人民政府共建的高校。

学校成立于1938年，前身是我国音乐家满谦子和现代画家、美术教育家徐悲鸿以及作曲家、音乐教育家吴伯超于1938年在桂林倡议建立的“广西省会国民基础学校艺术师资训练班”(简称“艺师班”)。 1960年更名为广西艺术学院，由专科学校升格为本科院校。在70多年的办学历史中，一批艺术家和艺术教育家，如满谦子、徐悲鸿、吴伯超、阳太阳、陈烟桥、陈良、黄独峰、朱培钧、陆华柏、李志曙等曾耕耘在学校，他们执教治学，弘文励教，为学校的发展奠定了良好的基础，积淀了深厚的文化底蕴。

学校下设美术学院、设计学院、中国画学院、音乐学院、舞蹈学院、人文学院、影视与传媒学院、民族艺术系、建筑艺术学院、造型艺术学院、管弦系、国际教育学院、美术教育学院、音乐教育学院、职业技术学院/继续教育学院、漓江画派学院、思想政治理论课教研部、公共课教学部和附属中等艺术学校等19个教学单位，1所艺术研究院。

学校现有四个校区，南宁市有南湖校区、相思湖校区和西校区，桂林市有桂林校区，总占地面积655.13亩。现有艺术学理论、音乐与舞蹈学、戏剧与影视学、美术学、设计学、新闻传播学6个一级学科硕士授权点，38个二级学科和3个硕士专业学位授权点，35个本科专业，43个本科专业方向，15个高职专业，形成了较为完备的高等艺术教育体系。学校面向全国招生，有全日制本专科学生、硕士研究生、留学生在校生14900人。
学校坚持以人才培养为根本任务，积极深化教育教学改革，不断提高教育教学质量。

学校大力加强人才队伍建设，提高学校核心竞争力。目前拥有教职工千余人，其中专任教师831人，具有正高级职务93人，具有副高级职务183人。2012年以来，学校设立教学名师资助项目15项、创新团队和卓越学者计划8项、博士资助项目21项、中青年骨干教师资助计划59项等，用以资助创新团队、中青年骨干教师开展学术研究，学校师资队伍建设和教育教学水平显著提高。

学校积极拓展国际教育交流与合作，促进教育国际化发展。与美国朱莉亚音乐学院、俄罗斯列宾美术学院等46所国(境)外院校和艺术团体开展了艺术交流与教育合作。2012年5月，国家外交部和教育部联合在学校挂牌成立“中国—东盟艺术人才培训中心”，学校先后与新加坡、泰国、印尼等国家的艺术院校建立了合作交流的关系，专注于培养适应中国—东盟艺术交流的特色人才。由学校举办的“中国-东盟音乐周”、“中国-东盟建筑空间设计论坛”、“中国-东盟舞蹈论坛暨展演”已成为三个有影响力的国际化专业论坛，其中“中国-东盟音乐周”已跻身为全国“新音乐”创作的三个平台。近五年来中外合作办学出国学生人数达93人，学校国际教育成果显著，涌现出陈永馨、杜氏清花等一批优秀的留学生。

Located in Nanning City, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi Art College is one of the seven comprehensive undergraduate art colleges in China. In 2012, it became a college jointly established by the Ministry of culture of the people's Republic of China and the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The school was founded in 1938. Its predecessor was "art teacher training class of Guangxi provincial capital national basic school" (referred to as "art teacher class"), which was proposed by man QIANZI, a musician in China, Xu Beihong, a modern painter and art educator, and Wu Bochao, a composer and music educator. In 1960, it was renamed Guangxi Art College, upgraded from junior college to undergraduate college. "China ASEAN Music Week", "China ASEAN architectural space design forum" and "China ASEAN Dance Forum and performance" organized by the school have become three influential international professional forums, among which "China ASEAN Music Week" has become the three platforms for the creation of "new music" in China.
