中国平煤神马集团开封炭素有限公司位于河南省开封市城东工业园。公司总投资99998.43万元，占地面积840余亩，是以中国平煤神马集团为首的八家股东共同投资组建，2002年8月登记注册的新建炭素企业，主要生产国内急需的超高功率石墨电极及其接头产品。生产的主要产品为Φ500mm（20”）、Φ550mm（22”）、Φ600mm（24”）、Φ700mm（28”）超高功率石墨电极及接头。公司一期产能2.2万吨/年。中国平煤神马集团开封炭素有限公司下属子公司——平顶山市三基炭素有限责任公司，主要产品为小规格（直径Φ500mm及以下）超高功率石墨电极和高功率石墨电极、普通功率石墨电极，以及不同规格的炭块等产品，年生产能力为2万吨。

公司拥有全套生产超高功率石墨电极及接头的成熟生产工艺技术，采用国际优良的成型、焙烧、浸渍、石墨化、机加工等工装设备，全线采用PLC控制系统，产品经国内多家大型钢铁公司大量使用证明，质量达到国际同类产品优良水平，可以替代进口产品。

通过公司上下的努力，截止到2009年底，已有国内5家Φ700mm电极用户（国内共7家），Φ600mm电极用户已有10家（国内共12家），Φ550mm电极用户有2家，同时，还开辟了欧洲、美国、印度、韩国、马来西亚等国际市场和台湾地区市场。
