天津奥群牧业由海归学者陈华女士于1998年创立（1998年为原广州华源禾牧业有限公司，2002年变更为东营市超群畜牧有限责任公司，2008年变更为天津奥群牧业有限公司）。经过二十年的发展，已经成为国内专门化肉羊核心育种与产区制种专业化公司、中国动物疫病净化创建场、中国国家肉羊核心育种场。

奥群牧业根据全球肉羊发展趋势，利用多年国际合作优势，在澳大利亚2011年肉羊育种成果“澳洲白”发布的当年签约，2012年引种到天津奥群基地。之后利用多年形成的封闭育种体系和扩繁技术，在天津奥群牧业核心育种基地选育扩繁，成为全球靠前的澳洲白大核心种群。

作为国内肉羊核心育种企业，天津奥群目前每年繁育纯种杜泊羊和澳洲白种羊一万余只、年产胚胎2万余枚。2014年天津奥群的国内外技术团队共移植鲜胚和冻胚1.6万枚。鲜胚和冻胚移植产羔率分别达到78%和63%。

农业现代化的源动力是种业。中澳自贸协议签署之后进口羊肉对中国羊肉市场的冲击，促使肉羊产业必须依靠种子工程来提高生产效率。为此，天津奥群居安思危，未雨绸缪，从国家战略高度出发，在厚积薄发的基础上，计划与华大基因合作，建立一个全基因组肉羊育种的高科技平台，充分依托世界基因测序与生物信息分析平台，通过基因组学在肉羊育种的选育及产业化推广，打造世界优质的种羊科技企业，让天津成为中国种子资源的战略中心。

In 2014, the domestic and foreign technical teams of Tianjin Olympic group transplanted 16000 fresh and frozen embryos. The lambing rates of fresh embryo and frozen embryo were 78% and 63%, respectively. At the same time of deepening core breeding, Tianjin aoqun carried out the national layout of seed production. Since 2013, we have adopted embryo transfer and laparoscopic insemination technology to complete the domestication of introduced breeds in Hulunbuir, and carried out large-scale hybridization and innovative utilization of local Mongolian sheep. In a short period of two years, Tianjin Olympic group has exerted great influence on Inner Mongolia and Northeast China by "good breed and good law", and has aroused great attention to the mutton sheep breeding industry in Tianjin from all over the country. After the signing of the free trade agreement between China and Australia, the impact of imported mutton on the Chinese mutton market prompted the mutton industry to rely on seed engineering to improve production efficiency.
