私藏KA-BAR USMC军刀Ka-bar 刀厂以前叫做Union Razor Co.，被称为Ka-bar 是由于一位猎人的信函。这位猎人在打猎的途中遇到了熊，子弹用尽的他只好拿起了他那由Union Razor Co.所造的高品质猎刀来与熊搏斗，因而保住了性命，他在信上写到这把刀可以杀熊（Kill a bear ），但是因为这位猎人的教育层度不高，将它写成Kil a bar，后来又被人们缩写成Ka-bar,因此Ka-bar这个名字便被大家所传颂，甚至比Union更有名气，因此在1951年时，Union Razor 公司正式改名为Ka-bar ，但在此之前Union公司便已在他们生产的刀上打上Ka-bar的标志。
