北京大学汇丰商学院（原北京大学深圳商学院）创办于2004年，是集教学、研究和社会服务于一体的学院，由经济学家海闻教授创办并担任创院院长。2008年8月30日，汇丰银行支持北京大学建设出色的商学院，“北京大学深圳商学院”正式冠名为“北京大学汇丰商学院”，并于同年的10月22日举行揭牌仪式。

学院的目标是建设国际化的教学环境，专注于经济、金融、管理的前沿学术研究，建设“商界军校”，培养有领导力、有自制力、有远大视野的商界领导。商学院的学生要进行每周一次的军事训练，其初衷是在建设一种将人的素质与专业知识技能相结合的人才培养体系，探索出一条德才并举的商学院教育模式，学院力图将管理素质培养、意志品质锻炼和团队建设贯彻到整个军训过程之中。

学院充分利用深圳独特的创新环境和毗邻香港国际大都会的有利条件，发挥北京大学的科研优势，“立足深圳、面向世界”，专注于为政府决策部门、研究机构、企业、以及各类金融机构培养具有扎实理论基础、较强实际工作能力的高级经济、管理、金融人才。学院开设了“北京大学经济学-香港大学金融学双硕士”、“北京大学管理学-香港大学金融学双硕士”、“北京大学金融学-香港中文大学经济学双硕士”、“北京大学经济学硕士”、“北京大学管理学硕士”、“北京大学金融学硕士”、“北京大学工商管理硕士（MBA）”等全日制硕士项目，同时招收全日制西方经济学博士研究生。另外，学院从2010年起开设EMBA项目，并从2013年开始招收在职MBA硕士研究生。学院同时开设高级管理人员培训项目（EDP）等非学位教学项目。

学院大力建设国际化校园环境，实行国际化教学与国际标准的行政管理体制。学院一方面不断与世界接轨完善教学科研环境，一方面大力招收国内外师资与生源，更加专注于通过AACSB(国际商学院联合会)及EFMD(欧洲管理发展委员会)两大国际认证，目前我院已通过以上两项认证的资格认定，认证程序已经开始。其中，欧洲管理发展协会于2011年9月15日在比利时布鲁塞尔总部召开认证委员会，一致通过决议，正式授予北京大学汇丰商学院经济学硕士项目EPAS认证。
