马石油管理所有马来西亚境内的上游作业,并通过生产共享合同聘用多家国际石油与天然气公司参与勘探、开发及生产马来西亚的石油与天然气。马石油也通过子公司马石油勘探有限公司直接参与马来西亚上游亿立方尺的天然气储备。马石油的下游作业包括液化天然气和运输业、加工和输送天然气、提炼和推销石油产品、买卖原油和石油产品、制造和销售石油化学产品,以及船运和相关的后勤,如运输液化天然气、原油和石油产品等。

Petronas, founded in 1974, is a state-owned enterprise. Fully owned by the Malaysian government. And it was granted all rights to own and control Malaysian oil resources by the oil development law passed by the Congress. The company is designated as a development company for all oil and gas in Malaysia and is required to process these resources in value-added manner. Petronas has grown from a pure oil and gas exploration enterprise at the beginning of its establishment into an entity with a wide range of businesses and value-added capabilities in many aspects. Petronas also directly participates in billion cubic feet of natural gas reserves in the upper reaches of Malaysia through its subsidiary Petronas exploration Co., Ltd. Petronas's downstream operations include LNG and transportation, processing and transportation of natural gas, refining and marketing of petroleum products, trading of crude oil and petroleum products, manufacturing and marketing of petrochemical products, as well as shipping and related logistics, such as transportation of LNG, crude oil and petroleum products. The upstream operation of Petronas focuses on strengthening the domestic exploration and production business and acquiring overseas new blocks to increase and continue the oil and gas reserves of Malaysia. Petronas, through its subsidiary, Petronas exploration PTE. Ltd., is directly involved in the exploration, production and production of domestic oil and natural gas in line with other transnational production sharing contractors. Petronas's overseas upstream business covers 25 countries.
