1995年12月,席殊先生投资创建北京席殊书屋有限公司。以1996年6月26日席殊书屋北京车公庄店开业为标志,家民营的全国性连锁书店诞生。1997年7月1日,席殊好书俱乐部正式成立,同年9月席殊好书俱乐部会刊--《好书》创刊。2000年3月,席殊进入电子商务, 旌旗席殊网上书店开通。

席殊书屋的连锁经营经历了五个发展阶段:

第一阶段(1996-1998):10家直营店的运营与探索,打造民营书业;

第二阶段(1998-1999):首批6家特许加盟店的成功试验;

第三阶段(1999年下半年至2000年2月):1999年下半年正式推出特许加盟计划,至2000年2月连锁店满百家,初步形成全国规模;

第四阶段(2000年3月至2001年1月)致力于连锁管理建设,完善席殊书屋、席殊好书俱乐部和旌旗席殊网上书店"三驾马车"模式;
