国福利会幼儿园是宋庆龄女士1949年亲手创办的一所幼儿园。当年宋庆龄女士和周恩来总理共同为中国福利会确立了“愿小树苗健康成长”和“实验性、示范性”的方针，成为中国福利会幼儿园的办园目标及方针。

60年来，中国福利会学前教育秉承宋庆龄女士“把最宝贵的东西给予儿童”的理念，积极探索，确立了“让每个孩子快乐成长，让每个孩子和谐发展”的办园理念，围绕“健体健心、自理自信、动手动脑、全面发展”的幼儿培养目标，逐步形成和完善了以“学生活、学学习、学做人”为切入点的“生存课程”。在全体教师的辛勤耕耘下，一批批孩子健康茁壮成长。

在60年的办园历程中，幼儿园从五原路到金桥开发区，再到康桥，2009年9月又在杨浦区新江湾城新开园区，目前幼儿园拥有江湾和康桥两个园区， 40个班级的规模，能同时容纳1000多名幼儿。经历了几度搬迁、扩张，幼儿园硕果累累。
