上世纪五六十年代还没有电视机，“黄振龙凉茶店”卖广告就靠一张嘴。伙计们一边卖凉茶，一边高唱“饮番杯黄振龙癍痧凉茶，材料足，功效灵……”加上铺面的当眼处摆放了一对长寿老人公仔。
更特别的是向拉黄包车的车夫送赠印有《黄振龙凉茶》字样的外套，使广州城内”黄振龙凉茶“的广告随即满街跑。不久黄振龙凉茶的美名便街知巷闻，不胫而走了。
1945年抗战胜利，黄振龙正式在广州仁济路口北平酒店开设了第一家凉茶铺。
